The White Ribbon Lapel Pin is an alternate colour that has been used to promote public awareness for Diabetes or Diabetes Mellitus is a syndrome or disorder of the metabolism, commonly due to a combination of hereditary and environmental causes. Diabetes is a result of abnormally high blood sugar levels called (hyperglycemia), blood glucose levels are controlled by the hormone we produce in our pancreas called insulin, the two most common types of diabetes are due to the diminished production of insulin or the bodies diminished response to the insulin.
