The Blue Ribbon Lapel Pin has been used to promote public awareness for Alopecia also known as hair loss. Alopecia is a medical condition where the person experiences loss of hair from their head and or body, Alopecia tends to up involuntary and unwelcome although there are a few cases known to be caused by a psychological compulsion to pull out one’s own hair. There are some cases where Alopecia is indication of an underlying medical condition i.e. iron deficiency.
